Big Boi in a still from the video for "She Said OK" f/ Theophilus London & Tre Luce
Just in case you were planning on staying OUT of the sun on Labor Day weekend, we leave you with the baby-oil anthem "She Said O.K." from Big Boi and Theophilus London. Putting the titt-ays to the side for a moment (sorry, couldn't resist) the song is something pretty tuff on a melodic level. And taken on the strength of the music and words, could be read as a heartfelt ode to that moment beautiful moment when a lady gifts her man with access to the most intimate part of herself. In spite of all the cooing an crooning, though, there is not a whole lot of consensuality going on in the video (directed by Alexi Papalexopoulos). Big Boi gives the objectification a honeyed, ass-with-class glow--largely due to Tre Luce's Ohio Players-style sheen on the hook--but is musical quality + nostalgia really enough to separate this video from, say, Tyga? I don't really know, just ruminating. Watch below and judge for yourself. Just don't judge for yourself all weekend. Sunshine is good for the soul.
