Christopher "Big Black" Boykin, who was best known as the co-star of MTV's popular show Rob & Big, has died from a heart attack, according to TMZ. Boykin was just 45 years old.
From 2006 to 2008, Boykin was the co-star of the reality series Rob & Big. "Big Black" was the best friend, bodyguard, and roommate of Rob Dyrdek, an entrepreneur. The show was centered on the day to day life of the two friends.
Rob & Big lasted three seasons on MTV before Boykin had a kid and moved out. After the show's end, Boykin would continue to make television appearances, and he would go on to launch a clothing line called Do Work.
A number of Boykin's friends took to social media to honor their friend, including television producer Shane Nickerson, Ridiculousness host Sterling Brim, and artist Chanel West Coast.
Boykin is survived by his nine-year-old daughter Isis.
A rep from Boykin confirmed the news to PEOPLE. Boykin's longtime close friend and Rob & Big co-star Rob Dydrek dedicated a number of touching posts to his friend on Instagram, including the one you see below.
