Accused Killer Of Rapper Big L Gunned Down In Harlem
Gerard Woodley, the chief suspect in the 1999 murder of rapper Big L aka Lamont Coleman, was gunned down in Harlem, according to The New York Daily News. The 46-year-old Woodley was shot in the head and back during a disturbance outside his home near W. 139th Street shortly after 11 p.m. on Thursday, June 23rd. Woodley, once suspected of three murders including Coleman's, was arrested multiple times but never convicted of the killings. Big L was murdered outside of his home on February 15, 1999. Woodley spent time in prison for a series of gun charges. Upon his release, Woodley was ordered to remain on parole until 2020. He reportedly feared his alleged crimes would eventually catch up to him, according to police sources.
