The 48-year-old New Orleans rapper, born Michael Lawrence Tyler, was released from Caddo Correctional Center in Louisiana after posting the bond in his rape case.
In 2017, he was wanted on a warrant listing a charge of first-degree rape in connection with an encounter at a downtown Shreveport casino. According to a prior report in USA Today, during an initial investigation, police said they recovered DNA evidence that allegedly linked Mystikal and Texas man Averweone Holman to the rape.
Mystikal has been in prison since August 2017. After a Louisiana woman came forward with accusations of sexual assault, he turned himself in on charges of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping but pleaded not guilty to the charges that December.
