The new song dropped on Soundcloud under Chet’s two-man act Something Out West.

Instead of leaving his rapping days behind him, Tom Hanks’ son Chet Haze has released a new song.

This surprise release follows the viral moment where he spoke in Patois at the Golden Globe Awards this past weekend on the red carpet. As we previously reported Chet was at the ceremony to support his father who won the Cecile B. Demille lifetime achievement award.

After taking to Instagram to share the strange video, he posted a screenshot of the CNN article featuring him with the caption: “Average citizens: damn this is scary I can’t believe we’re on the verge of WW3 let me check the news smh…” He then shared another clip of himself speaking Patois.

Following the aforementioned clip, Chet then posted another video where he shared that he’d just released his new song while a dancehall track played in the background. This turned out to be yet another troll moment.

His new song “Harley” dropped under the group name Chet Out West. Additionally, the release was actually not Caribbean-inspired at all.

A bit after he revealed the track, Chet took to his Instagram page again to touch on his appreciation for Jamaican culture. “Never in a million would I have thought that me just goofing around on the red carpet would have got so much attention. One thing I’m not joking about is my love and appreciation for Jamaica [and] the Jamaican culture.”
