The acclaimed director’s latest short hits heavyweight purple wax
Ahead of its MOCA debut in 2019, the soundtrack to Kahlil Joseph‘s gripping short, Fly Paper, is headed to wax.
Commissioned by The Vinyl Factory, the score features 11 original arrangements from Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Niki Randa, Kelsey Lu, Alice Smith, Kelan Phil Cohran and Legacy, all tied together by additional soundscapes from James William Blades. Limited to 1,000 copies, the soundtrack is pressed to heavyweight 180-gram purple vinyl and housed in a spot-varnished gatefold sleeve, featuring purple PVC enveloping that houses a collection of stills from the acclaimed film.
Fly Paper was premiered in 2017 as an audiovisual installation at New York’s New Museum before departing to Berlin and London and for stays at The Store X, where it resides until its MOCA unveiling.
