Pusha T has brought "White Lines (Cocaine Bear Remix)" to new black comedy-thriller film Cocaine Bear. The Virginia rapper, legal name Terrance Thornton, is well-versed in rapping about cocaine, making him a perfect contender to remix 1983 Melle Mel classic "White Lines (Don't Do It)" for the Elizabeth Banks-directed movie.
The updated track finds Thornton rapping along to the Cocaine Bear plot, which centers a duffle bag dropping from a plane and being discovered by a 175-pound American black bear.
“You heard the pilot lost the load, call that dumb and dumber/ It’s no storm without thunder, the bear crawls up and under/ Cocaine overload, the only fuel to his hunger,” he raps.
Melle Mel's original "White Lines" was released on renowned hip-hop label Sugar Hill Records. The song reached No. 47 on the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart.
Thornton is no stranger to promotional music. Prior to assisting Universal Pictures with their new film, last April, the rapper took aim at McDonalds, partnering with Arby's for their "Rib Roast" diss track. Also last year, Thornton released his fourth solo album, It's Almost Dry, which became the rapper's first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart upon release. Earlier this month, It's Almost Dry lost to Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers in the Best Rap Album category at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
Cocaine Bear is in theaters now.
