This entire Grilchy Party project by underground rapper and producer Matthew features bits and pieces of soul music but it mainly focuses on rap. In its entirety, the release is thorough and packed with a raw sound that makes it worthy of being highlighted this week.

Standout Tracks: “Freak Bul,” “Day 8 of my hangover”

Eric Bellinger is a singer that often doesn’t get enough praise for how he constantly breathes life into modern R&B. His latest album produced by Hitmaka is jam-packed with a bevy of R&B sounds that are compelling and emotional.

Standout Tracks: “Decide,” “Patterns”

MadeinTYO – NEO TYO

MadeinTYO excels when he blends trap rap with alternative beats. NEO TYO has the feel of SoundCloud rap of the aughts, and it works. He slowly ethers in and out of the production that doesn’t feel overly done. “Stunt” is a fun listen.

Standout Tracks: “So Many,” “Jazzy”

Neek Bucks – BLESSED TO THE MAX

There’s a grittiness that rings loudly throughout Neek Bucks’ debut album BLESSED TO THE MAX. Produced by Hitmaka, the project is a great start for the emerging rapper.

Standout Tracks: “DESERVE IT ALL [INTRO], “MASK UP Ft. 2 Chainz”
