Just in time for Record Store Day
Less than 24 hours after its release, N.E.R.D.‘s comeback single “Lemon” is already a hit.
The swag-heavy, Rihanna-boosted banger arrived yesterday afternoon via Beats 1 premiere along with a video that managed to bottle the voltage. Today, however, the band announces the single, a standalone until further notice, will arrive in wax form on Friday, November 20th, just hours before this year’s Record Store Day crawl.
“Lemon” is being pressed to a glowing yellow 7-inch with a Rihanna-less version of the single as its B-side, a version of the track I’m not even sure I want to hear. Either way, it’s coming, and pre-orders are currently underway via N.E.R.D.’s web shop. You can get an early jump on it via the link below.
This weekend, N.E.R.D. is set for their first performance since 2014’s Camp Flog Gnaw at ComplexCon, where many have speculated that new material could surface. They’ll also launch collaborative collections with Adidas and Billionaire Boys Club respectively at the second annual “lifetstyle” convention.
So yeah, N.E.R.D.’s back and already fitting themselves into the textures of the time; hypebeast posturing and all. Gotta say, those multi-tone camo bottoms are tempting, though.
