Max B Shares Photo from Prison and Hints at New Record Label Launch

Biggaveli's back with an update.

Max B updated fans on his status this week.

The rapper posted a new photo from prison to his official Twitter account on Tuesday, with the caption "#EMG" and a link leading to the "Support Max B" Facebook page. The blog post on the page stated that the acronym EMG "seems to stand for Elegant Music Group. This could be his new Independent record label name."

The 40-year-old Harlem rapper, born Charles Wingate, was sentenced to 75 years in prison in 2009 for alleged involvement in a fatal armed robbery. He was sentenced alongside his stepbrother Kelvin Leerdam, who received a life term and 35 years after the court found that he fatally shot one of the victims.

In 2016, Max B's entered a plea deal for the sole charge of aggravated manslaughter, as all his original charges on his 12-count indictment, including first-degree murder and first-degree robbery, would be dropped.

It's unclear when Max B will be released from prison, but earlier this year, French Montana announced that he may be coming home this year.

The artist, who was signed to Jim Jones' Byrd Gang label in 2006, featured on Kanye West's 2016 album, The Life of Pablo in the "Silver Surfer" interlude.

Max B is most recently featured on the track "Had to Survive" off rapper T-Shyne's latest album, The Immaculate.
