Mac Miller's Team Announces a New Music Tribute Is Currently in the Works

The release will serve as a follow-up to his successful posthumous album Circles.

Mac Miller’s team has announced a music project is currently in the works and fans are being called to contribute to the release.

Warner Records has shared that the forthcoming project which is currently untitled will be a tribute to Miller and his music. In an official statement, Warner Records also expressed that a toll-free number would be readily available for fans to dial in and offer “stories, thoughts, and wishes” these will then possibly be a part of the project. A website has also been created.

The statement reads: “Mac Miller’s team is working on an untitled project to celebrate Malcolm and his music.” It goes on to share, “His art touched so many lives, in so many ways.”

The forthcoming release will be the second posthumous project from the late rapper. At the top of January, his estate announced Circles would be released that same month. This full-length resonated deeply with Miller’s cult fanbase. It also was a tremendous success and it landed the No. 3 spot on Billboard’s 200 chart.

Circles was a fitting follow-up to 2018’s Swimming and it was initially set to be a companion piece to the latter. We previously reported Circles was finished with producer Jon Brion who was working with Miller on the album before his untimely death. He was able to complete Circles based on his time and conversations with Mac. Brion had also worked with the rapper on Swimming
