Kanye West's Unreleased Tracks From 'Jesus Is King' Have Surfaced

The cuts didn't find their way on Kanye West's ninth studio album.

Kanye West’s Jesus Is King album resonated overwhelmingly well within the hip-hop and gospel community when it dropped six months ago. The Chicago rapper has since led a successful series of performances with his Sunday Service Choir.

Recently, unreleased tracks from Jesus Is King have surfaced online.  High Snobiety reports two of the cuts “LA Monster” and “Up From the Ashes” were played during West’s Jesus Is King listening parties. These two were not included on Jesus Is King. At the moment, no further details on the songs have emerged.

Upon its release, the album which was Kanye’s ninth full length studio release rose to become No. 1 on Billboard’s 200 chart. It was also the rapper’s ninth consecutive debut on the aforementioned Billboard chart. Jesus Is King garnered 196.9 million on-demand streams even with its delayed drop date. The rollout also consisted of an IMAX film that raked in over $1 million

Jesus Is King came after West unveiled that he’d been battling with presenting an album that was entirely gospel music. In a past interview with Vogue he opened up about becoming saved and choosing a positive group of friends. During the feature, he also shared, “I thought I had it all figured out. [God has changed] everything, my ego… God put it all together.”

Despite the path the rapper had chosen, there is also a bit of controversy surrounding his West (this isn’t surprising). He still openly supports Donald Trump, as recent as last month, he alluded to the fact that he’ll be voting again for the president in the upcoming election in a GQ feature. When speaking on the election, he noted, “We know who I’m voting on. And I’m not going to be told by the people around me and the people that have their agenda that my career is going to be over.
