Jimmy Wopo Had Signed to Taylor Gang Right Before He Was Killed
Wopo had so much potential
Up-and-coming rapper Jimmy Wopo was killed in a drive-by shooting in Pittsburghs Hill District on Monday night.
The rapper, who was from Pittsburgh, had been on the scene for years. He started to find some success in 2016, releasing tapes likeWoponese andJordan Kobe. His biggest hit was "Elm Street," a song a lot of fans think Kendrick Lamar was inspired by when he made "HUMBLE."

The rapper hadn't peaked yet. In fact, he was on the rise. Chevy Woods, a rapper part of Wiz Khalifa's crew Taylor Gang, tweeted some heartbreaking news.
Woods revealed that Taylor Gang had just signed Wopo to a deal:

AndJulian Routh, a reporter for thePittsburgh Post-Gazette, said he talked to producer Norman Dean, who confirmed that Wopo was Taylor Gang's latest signing:

Jimmy Wopo was only 21 at the time of his death.
