“Tell the Kardashians you tried.”
A$AP Rocky made an unexpected appearance in a government official’s testimony for the ongoing impeachment inquiry this week.
According to a report from The New York Times, US Embassy official, David Holmes, testified that the president’s discussions with EU ambassador, Gordon Sondland, mentioned not only whether Ukraine would proceed with an investigation into vice president Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, but also the precarious legal situation of the Harlem rapper following his arrest in Sweden earlier this summer.
Per the report, Holmes’ testimony revealed Sondland claimed “[Rocky] should have plead guilty,” advising Trump to “let him get sentenced, play the racism card, give him a ticker-tape when he comes home.” Holmes’ report also notes Sondland’s reference to Kim Kardashian’s advocacy on behalf of the rapper, claiming Sondland added Trump could “tell the Kardashians you tried.”
Undeterred by his five-week stint in Stockholm, A$AP Rocky is slated to return to Sweden next month, performing at Ericsson Globe on December 11th.
