Hasbro has officially completed its purchase of eOne, the Canadian entertainment company behind some of the most popular kid's shows on the planet. Oh, and the entire Death Row Records catalog, as of 2013.

Announced over the summer, the deal brings eOne and its extensive TV, film, and music properties under the toy company's wing. In a statement via press release, Hasbro CEO and chairman, Brian Goldner, said "The addition of eOne accelerates our blueprint strategy by expanding our brand portfolio with eOne’s beloved global preschool brands, adding proven TV and film expertise, and creating additional opportunities for long-term profitable growth. We are pleased to welcome the incredibly talented eOne team to our company."

In addition to the Death Row catalog (acquired for a staggering $280 million,) Hasbro's $3.8 billion all-cash deal with the eOne covers the rights to albums and loosies from Wu-Tang Clan, KAYTRANADA, Chuck Berry, The Diplomats, Chromeo, and more. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the agreement effectively transforms eOne into a production branch for the toy company, hoping to capitalize on the studio's big and small screen kids titles -- including Peppa Pig and PJ Masks -- with new merch and licensing opportunities.
