Fresh off the release of his long-awaited, unanimously-celebrated reunion with Madlib on Bandana, Freddie Gibbs is on the road sending bars at anyone brave enough to bear them.
This week, the rapper stopped by Power 106 for another round of off-the-cuff lyricism. Gracing the mic with his infant son on his lap, Gibbs spit a densely-packed verse over Dom Kennedy's "My Type of Party" beat as his submission to the latest LA Leakers freestyle session. Every bit as cold as his dad, Freddie Jr. barely even blinked as his father delivered a casebook (and seemingly breathless,) blackout performance.
Earlier this month, Gibbs contentiously declared "[MF] DOOM can't rap as good as me," which sent the internets into hysterics. But it's a claim that's getting more difficult to argue by the day.
