Frank Ocean Cleared His Instagram Page, Sparking New Album Rumors

Frank Ocean fans have noticed that the singer-songwriter cleared his Instagram, prompting rumors of new music from him since 2020.

New music from Frank Ocean could be on the way. On Monday (September 26), fans of the Blond artist noticed that he cleared his Instagram, a clear sign from other entertainers that a new album will soon be released. While Ocean's sophomore album Blonde released in 2016, the singer-songwriter is set to headline Coachella in 2023, after his 2020 set at the festival was pushed back due to the pandemic. Also scheduled to headline Coachella that year were Travis Scott and Rage Against the Machine.

Ocean's last two singles “Dear April” and “Cayendo" were released in March 2020. In a recent episode of his Apple Music show Blonded Radio titled “blonded Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds,” Ocean also confirmed that he had been recording new music in Malibu while taking psychedelics.

“Forgive how, like, free associative this might feel. … I was working in Malibu this summer and I would go out, like, pretty late from the studio and there’s, like, a big population of coyotes in Malibu,” he said around the 13:11 mark in the episode. “And then when I would go outside I would see, like, all these bunnies running around and it reminded me of video games where you’re, like, a wizard or something. And you’re playing this role in this game and you’re running around and you have these little things to pick up and put in the pouch.”

According to Discussing Film, Ocean will also direct his first full-length feature for production companies A24 and 2AM this year, reportedly titled Philly.
