"I never want to be the king of hip-hop."

Slaughterhouse's own, Kxng Crooked, hosted Eminem for the rapper's first interview since the release of his new album, Music to Be Murdered By.

On the latest episode of Crooked's new Crook's Corner series, Em delves into his fascination with rhyme schemes and wordplay, picking apart his favorite lines. But it doesn't take long for the chat to turn to the ongoing tensions between himself and Lord Jamar. On the song, "I Will," Em sent a not-so-subliminal shot at Jamar. "Yeah, your group was off the chain, but you were the weakest link," the Detroit MC barbed on the song, which many interpreted as a shot at the Brand Nubian rapper who once claimed white rappers were "guests in the house of hip-hop" during a VladTV interview.

And though he refused to directly name Jamar, Em did acknowledge the comments during the interview. "I don’t know if I’ve got a chance to say this yet, but the funny shit is with the whole beef with a certain person, I never said I wasn’t a guest," Em tells Crook. He adds, "I’m absolutely a guest. I never said I wasn’t. And I never said I was king of anything. I never want to be the king of hip-hop." Jamar, of course, responded on Twitter shortly after the interview went live, stating, "I guess his EGO wouldn’t allow him to say 'Lord Jamar was right the whole time'."
