DOOM and Kaytranada will be producing Bishop Nehru’s next album, Elevators: Act I & II.
Nehru took to Instagram to announce the forthcoming project, adding that future updates can be found on his website.
Three years ago Nehru and DOOM released their collaborative album NehruvianDoom. Since then, the former has released the solo project MAGIC: 19, while the latter had teamed up with Adult Swim to release 15 new songs 15 weeks. Dubbed The Missing Notebook Rhymes, the endeavor came to an abrupt stop before being completed. Neither DOOM nor Adult Swim ever explained the reason for the cancellation but the latter did end up offering a statement via Mass Appeal.
“Adult Swim is ending our relationship with DOOM, and thus, the remaining Missing Notebook Rhymes will unfortunately have to remain…missing,” the statement read. “We are glad to have had the chance to provide the previous free tracks to our fans.”
As for Kaytranada, the producer released three surprise instrumentals on his SoundCloud page back in September. The 99.9% maestro also spoke about developing his sound recently.
“I don’t think about doing new, I just do it,” Kaytranada said in an interview with Complex. “I keep on doing me, so that’s what the signature is.”
“It’s pretty much about doing what you love and following your dreams. It sounds really corny, but it’s so real,” he continued. “Deep down you know what you want, and you should go for it.”
