
The "Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin Dies at Age 76

It's just been announced that Aretha Franklin‘s funeral will feature performances by some of the most prominent stars in soul and gospel.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the ceremony will take place in Franklin's hometown of Detroit and is slated to include performances from longtime Stevie Wonder,Chaka Khan, Fantasia, Yolanda Adams, Faith Hill, and Jennifer Hudson, who was picked earlier this year to portray Franklin in a biopic.

Wonder, a longtime friend and collaborator, co-wrote Franklin's 1974 hit “Until You Come Back to Me (That’s What I’m Gonna Do).” The Isley Brothers’ Ronald Isley, who sang a duet with Franklin in 2006, is also slated to perform.
Marvin Sapp, Shirley Caesar, the Clark Sisters, and Tasha Cobbs-Leonard will be among the group of artists honoring Franklin’s contributions to gospel music.

Franklin died on August 16th from complications with pancreatic cancer.
Her funeral is set to take place the morning of Aug. 31 at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit.
