On Tuesday, Aaliyah's family estate announced that her catalog will arrive on streaming services sooner than later. Stay tuned for further updates.
"We are excited to announced that communication has commenced between the estate and various labels about the status of Aaliyah's music catalogue," the estate said in a statement. "As well as its availability on streaming platforms in the near future. Thank you for your continued love and support. More updates to come."
Aaliyah's debut album, Age Ain't Nothing but a Number, is available on streaming services, however the project is controversial, given the fact all of its songs except one were written and produced by R. Kelly. Her sophomore effort, One in a Million, features production from Timbaland, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, Jermaine Dupri, and more. The album was certified two-times platinum in June 1997.
Longtime collaborator Missy Elliott paid tribute to Aaliyah on Tuesday. "Your music has always been 10 steps ahead," she wrote. "And your sound is still futuristic. Your fashion has always been one of a kind. You rocked your outfits with swag & sauce! Just know that you are still inspiring generations til this day. We love you."
