Watch the First Trailer for the All-Female Led ‘The Marvels’

Starring Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani, Captain Marvel goes on a mission that “changes everything” in the first trailer for ‘The Marvels.’

Without further delay, the long-awaited trailer for The Marvels has landed. A sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel, Brie Larson returns as the titular character, joined by Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani). Both Rambeau and Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan were introduced in Disney Plus shows WandaVision and Ms. Marvel, respectively. The film also marks Marvel Studios’ first women-led feature.

Directed by Candyman filmmaker Nia DaCosta, The Marvels shows an inconvenient twist between the three heroines: whenever one of them uses their powers, they switch locations with one another. The disruption was last seen in a Ms. Marvel post-credits scene, with Captain Marvel being transported to Jersey City.

The Marvel Studios-produced trailer features a remixed version of Beastie Boys’ 1998 song “Intergalactic” as its soundtrack, as Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) attempts to corral the three women.

“We’re a team,” Khan suggests, while Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers and Rambeau say otherwise.

An official synopsis shares that Captain Marvel "has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence."

"But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe," the synopsis adds. "When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel, and Carol's estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau.”

The Marvels makes its theatrical release on November 10, as part of Phase 5 of the MCU which includes the upcoming series Secret Invasion, which stars Jackson's Nick Furry in an espionage thriller, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which sees the return of the space-faring heroes facing off against the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji).
