Bill Burr Rips White Women for Hijacking the Woke Movement in Divisive 'SNL' Monologue

"Somehow, white women swung their Gucci-booted feet over the fence of oppression and stuck themselves at the front of the line."

Bill Burr marked his Saturday Night Live debut with a scattered and divisive opening monologue.

Opening with a bit on the right of anti-maskers to endanger the lives of their loved ones, the stand-up comedian made it clear he was out to raise brows from the get ("If you’re that dumb and you wanna kill your own family members then do it.") The crowd didn't exactly warm-up once he got to the retroactive glance of cancel culture, noting attempts recent attempts to go after John Wayne and other dead celebrities ("He was born in 1907, that’s what these people sounded like. You never talked to your grandparents and brought up the wrong subject?")

It wasn't all glaring misses, though. After some jeering from the audience, Burr quickly pivoted to his strongest suit; going after white people. Specifically white women, who the comedian charged with hijacking the woke movement by centering themselves in a discussion that was meant to address the historically margianalized. And he pulled no punches on that front. "Somehow, white women swung their Gucci-booted feet over the fence of oppression and stuck themselves at the front of the line," Burr railed.

From there, the comedian marched on with a bit on Pride month in NYC (another miss,) parlaying it into a statement on the need for Black History Month to be transferred to July so that Black people in the gay community could have two months to celebrate.

Naturally, Twitter was ablaze with commentary ranging from outirght vitriol to reluctant praise.
