Voters Pick Spike Lee's 'Crooklyn' to be Screened for Free Throughout NYC

If you live in New York City, there's only one movie you should be watching on Wednesday, September 13th.
That is Spike Lee's 1994 classic Crooklyn. The movie won the One Film, One New York, campaign that the Mayors Office of Media and Entertainment put on this month.

The point of the campaign was to have New Yorkers vote and pick one film out of five selections to watch together. The goal is to unite the city. So, on September 13th, Crooklyn will be played for free in various locations throughout New York city.
The Alfre Woodard and Delroy Lindo-lead film beat out other classics likeOn the Town, New York, New York, Desperately Seeking Susan, and The Wedding Banquet.

After the results were announced, Spike Lee went to Instagram to talk about the movie and thank those who voted for the film.
The movie will take place at a number of parks throughout the five boroughs including Fort Greene Park, where Spike will be in attendance himself. The movie will also be showered at a number of movie theaters.
