According to a report from the BBC earlier this week, the pop and fashion icon/magnate "couldn’t be more proud to take on such a prestigious title" in her home country." Appointed by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, Rihanna's official title reads "Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary," as to "engage and empower her to play a more definitive role as we work to transform Barbados."

She is tasked with the promotion of education, tourism, and investment, based on a tried and true record of independent business acumen, accruing an estimated net worth of $210 million since 2008, anchored by dominant beauty and fashion ventures (and, of course, over 200 million in global record sales.)

In her own statement, Rihanna addressed her fellow Barbadians and insists they'll have to do their part: "Every Barbadian is going to have to play their role in this current effort, and I'm ready and excited to take on the responsibility."

Recently, she threw a fourth annual installment of her Diamond Ball charity gala, where Issa Rae hosted and Childish Gambino performed. There's still no word on when we'll get that ANTI follow-up, though she has confirmed on multiple occasions that a new project is in the works.
