Jadakiss' Signature Laugh is Coming to an MTA Bus or Train Near You

Jadakiss is one of over 20 celebrity New Yorkers to contribute to the campaign.

On February 12, New York City's transit system will launch a new public health campaign to stop the spread of COVID-19. The campaign will feature the voices of over 20 well-known New Yorkers, including the legendary Yonkers MC Jadakiss. An excited Jada announced the news on Instagram, showing one take of the PSA, complete with his signature laugh.

"If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, please quarantine at home or seek medical attention," the ad reads. "Thanks for helping to keep New York City safe."

Robert DeNiro, Jerry Seinfeld, Desus & Mero will also deliver PSAs for the city's campaign, which was announced back in November. Nicolas Heller spoke with TimeOut about the campaign.

"It has always been a dream of mine to get together a gang of incredible New Yorkers to record new subway announcements similar to what yellow cabs did back in the early 2000s," Heller said. "I think it's important for the time that we are in that we have a reminder that we are still strong, we are still here, we are still New York. If all goes according to plan, it will spark a sense of New York pride every time you take the train."

All participants will record their entries for free. Heller says they'll be "doing it for the culture."

"As we work to bring customers and our city back," said Sarah Feinberg, interim president of MTA-NYC Transit, "what better combination than two New York originals teaming up to do just that, New York City Transit is thrilled to work with New York Nico to bring the voices of iconic New Yorkers into the system."
