The “Pony” singer, Ginuwine, sparked a hefty debate on Twitter after refusing a kiss from Celebrity Big Brother UK housemate India Willoughby, a trans woman.

Ginuwine (remember him?) has caused quite the controversy after a recent episode of Celebrity Big Brother UK. As a member of the live-action reality TV show, Ginuwine rebuffed the attempts of fellow housemate India Willoughby, who wanted to kiss the former R&B heartthrob.

During a conversation between the two, Willoughby asked if Ginuwine would ever date a trans woman. “You would date me, yeah?” she asked. “Not if you were trans,” Ginuwine replied. After digging a hole further saying that he wouldn’t date a trans woman, when Willoughby attempted to plant a kiss on the singer, Ginuwine played the trans woman on live TV, forcing her to storm off.

Twitter, watching this in real time, had a debate about Ginuwine’s actions. On one side people are under the impression that Ginuwine’s rejection makes him transphobic and bigoted. On the other side, some fans are rallying behind Ginuwine, insisting that he has a choice to date whomever he wants. There were even some who suggested that Willoughby was sexually harassing the “In Those Jeans” artist, which leaves us to ask you what do you think?
