Frank Ocean's Mother, Katonya Breaux, Responds To Kim Burrell's Homophobic Rant
In case you missed it, Kim Burrell is currently learning just what the full, unhinged force of the LGBTQ community feels like after a homophobic rant of her went viral over the weekend. During a sermon in her hometown of Houston, the gospel star railed against the "perverted spirit" of homosexuals in a tone that was less condemning than threatening. Burrell followed up with an "apology," wherein she attempted to clear the air, but only really ended up blaming her fan base for not going platinum and having never won a Grammy. Classy, as always.
Now, Katonya Breaux, devout Christian mother of Burrell's openly-gay recent collaborator, Frank Ocean, has chimed in, appearing to have asked her son to omit Burrell's vocal from "Godspeed," (a spirited and stunning Blonde ballad.) Knowing what we think we know of Ocean, this probably won't actually happened. But the sentiment here is just too on-point to overlook. Read Breaux's responses down below.
