Erykah Badu Thanks Kanye West For "Fighting For Us" In Instagram Post

After linking up with Kanye West at London Fashion Week, Erykah Badu praised the Donda 2 rapper-producer in an Instagram post.

Erykah Badu is speaking life into Kanye West. The singer, who remixed Ye's song "Real Friends" in 2016, praised the rapper-producer in an Instagram post after they reconnected at London Fashion Week. The two attended the Burberry Spring/Summer 2023 event earlier this week to support their mutual friend and designer Riccardo Tisci.

“Let me tell you about my friend Ye,” Badu wrote. “No one is more beautiful and kind and creative. Was there at his mama home going.”

She added, “IN ESSENCE. We all want the same thing .. to be loved and to work with pride. Thanks for fighting for us and for your self most of all I get it. @kanyewest and thanks for the secret show at Burberry after party. I was there.”
Badu's statement arrives less than two weeks after the Donda 2 artist, who now goes by the name Ye, ended his partnership with Gap, originally signing to the fashion company for a 10-year deal. He has accused both Gap and Adidas of stealing his Yeezy designs, and excluding him from meetings surrounding his Yeezy brand.
“It was all kind of a disregard for the voice of something that I co-created. I co-created the product at Adidas. I co-created the product at Gap,” he recently said on Good Morning America. “That means that I was there for some specific agenda, not for Yeezy Gap to be everything that it could be, or this dream that I had about what the Gap could be,” he said. “It’s time for me to make my own thing.”
As for Badu, the artist is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her 1997 debut album Baduizm with two concerts at London’s Royal Festival Hall. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
