"I Got My Show Back": Dave Chappelle's 'Chappelle's Show' Returns To Netflix

Dave Chappelle's beloved Chappelle's Show returned to streaming on Friday (February 12) after Comedy Central paid him "millions of dollars."

Following the release of his Instagram short Unforgiven, Dave Chappelle has released a follow-up titled Redemption Song. In the 10-minute clip, the comedian reveals that his beloved Chappelle's Show is returning to Netflix following a discussion he had with Comedy Central.

While speaking to the audience at one of his socially distanced comedy shows in Austin, Texas, Chappelle revisited how he asked his fans not to stream Chappelle's Show because he wasn't receiving any money from it.

"I asked you to stop watching the show and thank God almighty for you, you did," he said. "You made that show worthless, because without your eyes it's nothing."

"And when you stopped watching it, they called me," Chappelle continued. "And I got my name back. And I got my license back. And I got my show back. And they paid me millions of dollars. Thank you very much."

The end of the video then announces Chappelle's Show's return to Netflix, which became a part of the streaming service's catalog on Friday (February 12).

In his Unforgiven video, Chappelle had previously spoken out against Netflix and HBO Max making his show available to stream.

“When I found out they were streaming Chappelle’s Show I was furious,” he said. “How could they not know? I called them and told them that this makes me feel bad…they agreed [to remove it].”

“I think if you’re streaming that show, you’re fencing stolen goods,” he continued. “They stole that from me, they just took it. When I quit my show, they said I was crazy. What was crazy about it? I just didn’t want to do it anymore!”

Elsewhere in the Redemption Song video, Chappelle also talked about having the coronavirus, the Capitol riots and more.
