Partnering with the Bonnaroo parent company, Superfly, last year, Comedy Central made it clear that something in the way of a big-tent operation might have been in the works. Today the confirm and detail it with the announcement of Colossal Clusterfest, a three-day comedy and music festival that one-ups the crunchy festival circuit mainstay with a focus on funnies (and podcasts?)
A look at the weekend’s program only proves the festival’s name to be an apt one, lined with performances from every shape, shade and creed of marquee name, including Kevin Hart, Jerry Seinfeld, Sarah Silverman, Fred Armisen, Hannibal Buress, Reggie Watts, Ice Cube, Broad City‘s Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, as well as musical performances from Chromeo, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Maya Rudolph and Gretchen Lieberum‘s Prince cover band, Princess. There will also be specially dedicated “attractions” themed after iconic TV shows like South Park, Seinfeld and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
Colossal Clusterfest hits San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium the weekend of June 2-4. Peep the announcement video below and hit the link to cop your stubs.
