'I’m Gonna Git You Sucka' Star Bernie Casey Dies at the Age of 78
It’s not often you can call someone a legend in two games.
But the title definitely fits for NFL star turned actor Bernie Casey, who died on Wednesday in an LA hospital.
Casey was 78.
For decades, Casey was a notable actor in Hollywood, getting consistent work. He made his acting debut 1969, starring in The Magnificent Seven sequel Guns of the Magnificent Seven. From there, Casey would go on to act in more than 70 movies.
His most famous roles included playing U.N. Jefferson in Revenge of the Nerds; Mr. Ryan in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure; and, of course, John Slade in Keenen Ivory Wayans’ cult classic I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.
Before becoming an actor, Casey spent eight years as a Pro Bowl wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers and the L.A. Rams.
He also published a book of poetry called Look at The People in 1969.
Some life. R.I.P. Casey.
