Did Balenciaga Jack an Old Ruff Ryders Logo? Swizz Beatz Thinks So

Last month, Gucci saw themselves in a minor controversy when people on social media excused the brand of plagiarizing a Dapper Dan look from the '80s.

After the controversy picked up momentum, Gucci released a statement saying that they weren't trying to rip off Dapper Dan. They claimed they were trying to "pay homage."

So is this an example of Balenciaga paying homage too?

Yesterday, Swizz Beatz postedthe post you see above: it's a picture of a model wearing a Balenciaga shirt with B labels all over the shirt. Swizz noticed that the B looked strangely familiar to an old Ruff Ryders logo(from the Ruff Ryders Vol. 2 era.)

After hisinitial post, he posted areceipt: a photo of the shirt Ruff Ryders shirt. Inthe caption, Swizz wrote:

"We must have a talk about this Ruff Ryder shirt ASAP," Swizz Beatz wrote on Instagram, before posting a picture of the original Ruff Ryders shirt, circa 2000, for comparison. "Call me back blessings. I Might just want you to open up a fashion school in the Bronx or Harlem just so you can give back to the culture."

This looks pretty damning to us. Balenciaga should probably start making some phone calls.
