“To bring El Muerto to life is just incredible .. so exciting,” said Ocasio, also mentioning that he grew up a fan of wrestling.
Explained on the official Marvel website, El Muerto – born Juan-Carlos Estrada Sanchez – is a wrestler with superhuman abilities, coming into power after facing off with Spider-Man in the ring. During a charity wrestling match, El Muerto is nearly stung by Spider-Man with poison, but as the wrestling star’s rival El Dorado attempts to claim his life, Spider-Man rescues El Muerto, the two teaming up to defeat El Dorado.
During CinemaCon, Sony Pictures alluded to the upcoming film following El Muerto as he inherits the powers of his father, Marcus Estrada.
Earlier this month, Ocasio wrapped his El Último Tour Del Mundo 2022, but in August, the rapper will embark on his next stadium tour World’s Hottest Tour, across the United States and Latin America. Tickets for the tour are available now.
