2019 was a stellar year for Anderson Paak. In April, he released his fourth studio album Ventura. The Recording Academy nominated the album for Best R&B Album, and "Come Home," featuring Andre 3000, for Best R&B Performance. His band, the Free Nationals, finally released their debut album. On Thursday, Paak celebrated a more personal achievement: he bought his mother a five-bedroom home. "We're a winner!" he said in the caption, "from doing time with lifers and killers to a 5 bedroom hideout by the river! I love you mama, make sure you save a room for me lol and enjoy yah new home!"
In addition to the accolades, Paak continues to be involved in his local community. In mid-December, he threw his third annual Paak House celebration concert at Los Angeles' MacArthur Park venue. The event featured performances from names like Blueface, YBN Cordae, Freddie Gibbs, Mereba and Emily King. Anthony Anderson and Seth Rogen also made appearances onstage. Days before the celebration, he urged his fans to donate in an effort to keep his local Oxnard performing arts center open. Paak was able to extend the deadline to April 2020. He told Billboard that he aims to make the center the headquarters for next year's Paak House celebration.
