When sexual predators keep trying to make films about being sexual predators

Amazon is ending its relationship with Woody Allen in light of ongoing accusations of assaulting his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow.

According to Consequence of Sound, first signs of severing ties are already apparent with Amazon Studios indefinitely shelving Allen's upcoming film, A Rainy Day in New York, which features a sexual relationship between a 44-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl. Amazon is reportedly attempting to buy Allen out of his five-film deal with the studio, which calls for three more movies. If it can't make a deal, they'll be forced to eventually release the film.

The film's cast includes Timothée Chalame, Rebecca Hall, Jude Law, Selena Gomez, and Elle Fanning, many of which have donated their salary from the film to organizations fighting on behalf of the victims of sexual violence, including RAINN, the LGBT Centre, and Time's Up.

The remaining questions for all parties involved: what the fuck were you thinking in the first place? How many times does Allen need to make a film about lusting over barely teenage girls for you to fully accept that he's a fucking criminal? And how many dollars donated does it take to ease your guilt in being complicit in the telling another one of those stories?

Shame on all of ya. Burn it all down.
