RZA and Ghostface Killah Drop a New Single, "Fighting for Equality"

The track appears on the soundtrack to the RZA-directed film Cut Throat City.

RZA is having a banner year. On the heels of the success of his Hulu series Wu-Tang: An American Saga, an Emmy nomination, and an epic Verzuz battle with DJ Premier, he's released a new single with Ghostface Killah titled "Fighting For Equality." The track will appear on his upcoming film, Cut Throat City.

The film takes place in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans. Four friends return to the city and find their homes destroyed. In an attempt to get back on their feet, they embark on an ill-fated heist attempt. View the full trailer below.

"The song was inspired by what the four heroes of the film have to tread through in order to get their bearings in an unjust system," RZA said of "Fighting for Equality." "A system splattered with inequalities and corruption. Although the film is set in 2005 with Hurricane Katrina as a backdrop, we find ourselves in 2020 in a similar political and social landscape."

RZA also recently made a new jingle for ice cream titan Good Humor. The company made the change due to the racist history of the original jingle, "Turkey in the Straw."

Cut Throat City stars Shameik Moore, who plays Raekwon in the Hulu series, as well as T.I., Wesley Snipes, Terrence Howard, and Ethan Hawke. The soundtrack will be just six tracks, including 36 Chambers MCs like Reverend Willy Burke, Hue Hef, and more. Cut Throat City is set to be released on August 21.
