Talib Kweli Speaks On Collabos With Miguel, Dilla, Kendrick & More

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Catching up with Talib Kweli on the frigid streets of Detroit (you can tell because he's wearing hella parka and singing "It's so cold in the D") Fuse TV has the self-proclaimed Prisoner Of Conscious opening up about the nature of the various collaborations that helped form the album including, but not limited to, working with Kendrick Lamar on "Push Thru," (a record he's apparently had on the shelf for a good minute ie before K.Dot took the mainstream by storm in 2012), building with Miguel on underground L.A. rap ("when I hang out with Miguel, we talking about Blu and Pac Div and Kendrick Lamar...that's what Miguel's into") and a track with Nelly, of all people ("from 2000-2010 he sold more records than anybody ever in the business. He could'nta did that unless he was dedicated to the music.") He also drops a tantalizing tidbit about a an unreleased song on a J Dilla beat that he completed for the album but decided to hold back for now, because he didn't want it to "get lost in the mix." Hit play below for the complete science on all those important topics and look for Prisoner Of Conscious to drop on April 23rd.
