Well, it appears to be that time of the year again, folks. Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame ballots are officially beginning to make their rotations for next years honors, and the new batch of candidates is nothing short of spectacular.

This year's newly eligible artists include TupacBad BrainsJourney, Pearl Jam, Jane's Addiction, Electric Light Orchestra, Steppenwolf, Joan Baez and Depeche Mode, all either having been nominated for the first time or just deemed eligible by the voting committee, whose criteria for eligibility is notoriously preferential monetarily-driven. That group joins returning nominees Kraftwerk, Janet Jackson, The Cars, Chaka Khan, MC5, The Zombies, Yes, The J. Geils Band, Joe Tex, and Chic, who've been nominated almost a dozen times without selection.

Those interested in seeing their favorite of the bunch actually make the 2017 induction are encouraged to head over to Rolling Stone, where polling is taking place for the "Fan Ballot." Here's hoping they get it right this year. But honestly, if we can learn anything from Steve Miller's ranting in the wake of last year's ceremony, a nod in the Hall Of Fame usually means more to the committee than the actual artists selected for the honor.
