Steve Lacy Unscathed After a Hit-and-Run Collision With a Drunk Driver

Thankfully, the 22-year-old only suffered minor scratches.

On Monday Steve Lacy, singer and guitarist of The Internet fame, escaped a nearly-tragic situation with minor bruises. While sitting in his Tesla, a drunk drive struck Lacy's car head-on. Steve posted pictures of the totaled vehicle on Instagram.

"That I'm still alive glow hit different," he wrote. "Please don't drink and drive people. This drunk f*ck hit me head on and ran. [Definitely] accepted my fate, but we still here. Black lives matter tho bish we not done."

Lacy thanked friends and followers for their well wishes on his Instagram story.

"Thank y'all for all the love and support on my last post," he wrote. "I'm here for y'all and US. So much love and gratitude for all of you. I don't take any of this for granted believe that. My body hurts but my heart feels stronger."

Most recently, Lacy released "JEAN JACK IT," his first single since his 2019 album Apollo XXI. The album earned a nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. The honor was Lacy's first as a solo artist. Three years prior, Lacy's work on The Internet's 2015 debut Ego Death earned the group a nomination in the same category.

In May 2019, Lacy appeared on Father of the Bride, Vampire Weekend's first project in nearly six years. Lacy contributed to the track "Sunflower." Back in 2018, Lacy produced the entirety of Ravyn Lenae's Crush EP. Lacy also contributed vocals to "Computer Luv" and "4 Leaf Clover."
