It’s been a few years since we last heard from Brooklyn based emcee/singer, Lorenzo Asher, but he makes his return today with this smooth new self-produced joint featuring Boston’s Michael Christmas (tick tick!). Take a listen to the shrooms and tantric sex inspired new single, “Liverpool.” Says Asher of the song’s creation: "I was with a bunch of my true hippy friends in Laurel Canyon, and they were putting me on to a new wave—a feel good wave. It was also the first time I had ever tried shrooms. We were at homie's house —who happens to do one of the character voices for Nickelodeons' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series—and my friend Kita was telling me about tantric love making. I just started jamming out on the piano singing the song.” Look for this one to appear on Asher’s upcoming project, Tsukuyomi, due out in a few months.
