Kanye West Gives Lorde's "Flicker" An Eerie Remix
Kanye West put the Yeezus touch on Lorde's booming Hunger Games anthem "Yellow Flicker Beat." Ye transforms the Kiwi anti-pop star's contribution the forthcoming OST of a highly anticipated holiday season teen action-drama into a slow-churning mechanical sound-bed, stripped bare of the original's heavy synth-driven knock, leaving only vocal track and a few buried subtle airy keys lurking on the low-end. The track isn't all New Zealand's pop icon is contributing to the project, as she's actually curating the OST and wrangling all of her freshly procured connections on to one massive compilation of moody music. The soundtrack has already revealed contributions from Miguel and The Chemical Brothers on "This Is Not A Game", but also promises to deliver appearances from Major Lazer, Raury, Grace Jones, Tinasheand plenty more. We've long known young Lorde for admiration of the self-annointed, but it's always nice to see real recognizing real, even if Ye leaves us scratching our heads more these days than ever. In any case, you can preorder the album on iTunes today ahead of its November 17th drop and get this new joint right away. Stream Kanye West's reword of Lorde's "Yellow Flicker Beat" down below.
