Okayafrica Video: Kwabs - "Wrong Or Right"

Not that we recognize any Okayafrica jurisdiction over Kwabs, a First Looker, a UKplayer and an honorable mention on our Top 14 Artists To Watch For 2014. However (ahem) they did post this new video first. Besides being Kwabs' very first official video (to our knowledge) it's also a hell of a showcase of the street dance style that here in Brooklyn we call "flex." Unclear if these kids are transplants or maybe this is the London equivalent; an eerie hybrid of pop/locking and Filipino inmates performing "Thriller"--with strong overtones of Elephant Man doing the "Gully Creeper" and flex-king Storyboard P. Either way, a damn watchable video--here's what OKA said:

It’s only right that Kwabs, the second coming of soul-electro by way of London/Ghana, would make his video debut with a visual exorcism as goosebump-inducing as his crooning prowess. The video for the 90s R&B-nodding "Wrong Or Right," produced by SOHN, features our gospel-strength hero casting spells all over London. The man’s pipes are a dose of spiritual awakening, as they cause a crew of nimble-bodied dancers to take to the streets. With this first video off his forthcoming EP, Kwabs has officially arrived. Watch “Wrong Or Right” below and stay tuned for more on the upcoming 4-track EP of the same name, due February 3. We’re looking forward to what he has in store for us this year.
