Kanye West Discusses Family Life, Yeezy Season 2 w/ André Leon Talley
Say what you will about the Yeezy Adidas clothing line, but it's become, in very little time, one of Kanye West's most notable achievements. With his first line of tank tops, sweatshirts, pants and sneakers just this month seeing a release (for believably high prices), Ye has already made his next big move--Yeezy Season 2. Previewed this week at New York Fashion Week, West's second line offers more of the post-apocalyptic-hypebeast aesthetic that defined his initial line. It's like there's a party at the Zion city from The Matrix, but without all the Keanu Reeves.
Hot off the heels of the the line's release, West sat down to discuss his fashion design goals, the mien of his new family life and ongoing quest for artistic understanding with Vogue Magazine editor at large André Leon Talley. West called Season 2 a "development in my language" and a vision that's closer to his own dreams. "I want to demonstrate that I can learn and follow the rules of passion, so that I can work with amazing people." Talley, for his part, was clearly impressed.
