Janelle Monae Wondaland Arts Society Eephus EP

The Wondaland Arts Society movement has been in motion for years now with acts like the label's proprietor and leading lady Janelle Monáe, Roman GianArthur and Deep Cotton already redefining artistic commonplace on all levels. So it should come to no surprise that they've been getting their share of attention from the majors, even though the institution insists on remaining a for-artist, by-artist label. Pride aside, the Wondaland camp has teamed with LA Reid and Epic Records to announce and release a forthcoming five-track compilation EP that will introduce the world to a whole new wave of left-field funkateers.

New additions to the roster include Brooklyn-based half-rap, half-croon cat Jidennawhose poppy and traptastic single "Classic Man" debuted earlier this week and is slated to be on the showcase piece. There's also the lovely, enigmatic and appropriately named duo St. Beauty, who we believe will be making all of the waves in 2015. The Eephus compilation is due out on May 6th and will feature a new single from Miss Monae and newcomer Jidenna, so be sure to check back for all the eye and ear candy you can bear. In the meantime, get acquainted with the new guy's single "Classic Man" and watch Janelle deliver the Wondaland Arts Society mission statement in a behind-the-scenes clip from their photo shoot below.
