Jaded Inc. aka Mayer Hawthorne and high school homie 14KT just dropped a steamy and tatted lyric visual for their new-wave-tinged funk "Coconut Sofa." The 14KT produced track is laced with D-town's Ghettotech sentiments and a sort of pop-wave synthesis we haven't heard since the likes of the Tom Tom Club or The Talking Heads, melding those post-new-wave lo-fi drums with synth-heavy funk a la Prince's "Erotic City." The tandem's collaborative debut LP The Big Knockis slated for a June 17th release with a pre-order available via iTunes, so keep it locked for more on the project soon.
