The Aftermath architect drops his first solo cut since 2015

Last night, the four-part documentary series, The Defiant Ones, premiered on HBO. Chronicling the rise of two of music's most industrious and impactful minds -- Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine -- and the partnership that would lead to the rise of some revered names in hip-hop (as well as an entire streaming platform.)

Directed by Allen Hughes, The Defiant Ones gathers testimony from the Interscope duo's former and current roster of high-profile associates and collaborators, building out the mythos of an already invaluable melding of the minds. Those that tuned in for part one of the series likely took note of the opening theme, which was released today as "Gunfiyah" and serves as Dr. Dre's first piece of new music since the release of his surprise album/soundtrack/partnership-announcement, Compton, in 2015.
