The grime legend passed two years after announcing his diagnosis.

According to reports, MC Stormin has died. His rep confirmed the news to Metro.co.ukMonday morning.

In 2016, MC Stormin, whose given name is Shaun Lewis, revealed he was suffering from stage 2 skin cancer in an open letter to his fans writing,  “Is it a test? No it’s a fight I will win so when I’m gone just know it’s for a short time and I’ll #BRB."  That same year, he'd address the cancer on his album #BRB (Be Right Back), and would use social media to document the battle.

DJ Phantasy broke the news of his death on Instagram.

MC Stormin came to fame through pirate radio station Deja Vu in the early 2000s.

As an original founding member of N.A.S.T.Y. Crew alongside grime heavyweights like Kano, D Double E, and Jammer, MC Stormin became a trailblazing force for a genre definitive of contemporary British music and culture.
