D'Angelo To Make Saturday Night Live Debut As Musical Guest On January 31st!
Stop the damn press. D'Angelo is about to make his late-night network TV debut as he's been confirmed to perform on Saturday Night Live as the musical guest on January 31st. You read the correctly. A month after dropping the most anticipated record of a generation (and delivering all the goods on that front) and just a few days after announcing his inaugural headlining slot at the legendary Apollo Theater, your boy will be hitting the notes with The Vanguard on New York's other most mythical stage. There's no word on what kind of performance we'll be getting (or who exactly will be sharing the bill) or whether we'll get a Prince-styled, no-holds-bar jam, but you can be sure whatever takes place on 31st, it'll 'sho-nuff be fawnky. So get those DVRs set, D's planning on taking us into the second Soulquarian month with a bang. Tickets for the February 7th show at the Apollo Theater go on sale tomorrow morning at 10am. Make sure you grab your ticket, as this is a sure-shot sell-out type of jawn. If you've somehow managed to avoid copping Black Messiah, get yourself a digital pressing on iTunes today.
