Ben Khan's Funk Electrifies On His Latest Single "1000"

Ben Khan (for those unfamiliar) has made a habit of continually producing cuts that rock between the danceable, electronic side of r&b and the earthy, deep funk of yesteryear. After all, the UK isn't all doughy soul singers and EDM wonder twins. Hours ago, he let loose yet another dizzying display of these principles at work, revealing his latest loosie "1000." Tapping into the electro-funk stuff of Jai Paul, Khan manages to take the fuzz-guitar driven prism of his fellow pioneering Brit and marry it with edgy, suffocating pop and hip-hop, not unlike a Little Dragon,Miguelor a much harder take on Frank Ocean's melancholy-laced sonics. One thing is clear however, that whether Khan is some new incarnation of Paul's feel or another beast altogether, his brand of infectious, high-voltage r&b cannot be scoffed and will inevitably end up in your rotation by day's end. Listen to his latest single "1000" below and grab a copy of his debut EP 1992 on iTunes today. And if you happen to be on the other side of the pond, check out your boy live and direct next month at King Tut's on April 12th and Soup Kitchen on April 14th.
